Law School Who Killed Professor Seo (Korean Drama)

Law School revolves around the murder of one professor; however, other mysteries also run deep throughout this drama.

Students join forces to uncover the truth about Yang Jong Hoon’s murder; other suspects may include Han Joon Hwi and Kang Sol B.

Characters

An investigation ensues following the murder of Professor Seo, while other mysteries also surface. Class Topnotcher Han Joon-hwi may have connections with Professor Seo, while Kim Eun-sook struggles to free Le, an accused rapist whom she reluctantly sentenced as a judge 11 years earlier.

Yang Jong-Hoon planted drugs into Professor Seo’s coffee in order to cause hypoglycemic shock, ultimately leading to his death. After learning of Professor Seo’s desire to confess a hit and run accident that involved himself, Lee Man-ho had previously expressed desire to eliminate Assemblyman Go since she exposed alleged sexual abuse against his son. Lee Man-ho’s interrogation revealed his motivations – his son wanted Assemblyman Go dead due to exposing it.

Joon-hwi’s investigation brings him closer to uncovering the truth about Professor Seo’s murder; he discovers that it was in fact carried out by a corrupt politician who wanted to expose his misdeeds, such as land bribery and corruption.

Professor Seo’s death caused division between Assemblyman Go and his daughter. Police believe that Go’s son may have committed the act in order to keep his secret about her relationship from becoming public knowledge.

Investigation reveals clues regarding a possible mastermind behind Professor Kim’s murder: an unscrupulous wealthy individual suspected of taking over their family fortune and buying up law schools; Joon-hwi closely monitors this figure to prove he did not kill Professor Kim himself.

Han Joon-hwi, who had been suspected of being Professor Seo’s nephew in previous episodes, has recently been revealed as his actual nephew in this episode of My Beautiful Bride. As well as attending law school and working together with fellow students to solve the mystery, Joon-hwi works alongside them and star pupil Jeon Ye Seul to unravel it together. Early suspicion of him arises due to suspicious activities and connections he shares with suspects he works alongside; Joon-hwi becomes one of several prime suspects before ultimately being cleared later. Meanwhile, there’s also romantic tension between Joon-hwi and Jeon Ye Seul (Go Yoon Jung who portrays Jeon has appeared before in My Beautiful Bride; known for both beauty and acting ability).

Plot

After the show trial of Professor Seo Byeong Joo (Ahn Nae Sang), a murder mystery unfolds. Law students are arrested in relation to the killing, including Han Joon-hwi (Kim Bum), due to his relationship with Professor Seo Byeong Joo who has died, so as a defense strategy they must put their knowledge and wits on trial so as to prove their innocence and ultimately win their freedom from criminal charges.

Law School continues its focus on murder mystery with this latest episode. Kim Eun-sook’s struggles to free a rapist she reluctantly sentenced 11 years ago play an integral part of this episode, yet new developments continue to thicken its plotline.

This episode reveals that Sol-B’s laptop contained files related to the prosecution theory about Seo Byung Joo’s death, implicating her involvement in the plagiarism scandal and disproving Assemblyman Ko as being behind its planning. Furthermore, their love triangle between three main characters takes an unexpected turn.

Han Joon-hwi, nephew of Seo Byung-joo (deceased), an exemplary professor, is smart and even-tempered, but keeps his background hidden to prevent special treatment by other students.

Joon-hwi and his classmates work to uncover the truth surrounding Professor Ahn’s death, discovering that Seo Byung-joo was involved with both corruption and child rapist cases during this case.

In the next episode of the show, viewers will get an inkling as to a potential suspect in Seo Byung-joo’s murder case. A flashback scene shows him taking drugs before succumbing to death himself. Additionally, students attempt to safeguard their professor while discussing one student’s secret relationship.

Han Joon-hwi and his fellow law students in Law School return with another episode to uncover the truth about Seo Byung-joo’s murder, discovering that one student’s mother may have orchestrated this incident and Joon-hwi will face an impossible decision that affects all his classmates’ lives – JTBC will air this drama every Wednesday at 9 pm KST.

Ratings

Law School Who Killed Professor Seo is one of the few Korean dramas with an intriguing plot, captivating viewers all the while keeping them guessing until the very last second. Instead of adhering to traditional student roles and passively accepting what happens around them, this show takes matters into its own hands to solve the murder of Professor Seo. Watch it now if you want a thrill!

Hankuk University and its administration is at the heart of this drama’s central mystery – the murder of one of their law professors at Hankuk University, linked to a corruption circle involving politicians. Furthermore, this murder casts serious doubt upon its integrity as well as that of Professor Yang (a former prosecutor who may have killed this professor due to being bitter enemies with them both and possibly seeking revenge for his son’s death) being suspected in its commission.

Other suspects include Joon Hwi, Kang Sol B and the vice dean. Joon Hwi is an exceptionally hardworking student who strives to maintain excellent grades; however, his connection to Professor Oh remains hidden from his classmates. A natural leader, smart and even-tempered.

Kang Sol B is the daughter of a judge. Since childhood she has been pressured by her parents to excel as a law student – even if that means plagiarizing work – or her mother will threaten to throw her out if she doesn’t succeed at law school. Kang’s family are directly tied into university administration – her father serves as vice dean at her university.

Kim Myung-min stars as Professor Yang, an unwavering law professor. A former prosecutor himself, he gained many enemies within the legal world despite being tough as a teacher but always honest and kind towards students. Kim Eun-sook plays Professor with Heart – she teaches civil law with flair to keep classes interesting for her students while remaining trustworthy to Professor Yang.

Reviews

Hankuk University’s Law Faculty students may be an irreverent bunch, but their instructors can be even more challenging. Professor Yang Jong-hoon (Kim Myung-min), an ex-prosecutor himself, is one such teacher – known for using harsh discipline tactics to produce competent law professionals. In pursuit of truth he won’t hesitate to use either fire or sword if necessary!

An attack occurs during a mock trial class led by Professor Yang and the remaining law students, including first year student Han Joon-hwi (Kim Bum), must work together to uncover the truth and prove his innocence.

Law School follows the murder of Professor Seo Byung-joo as its main mystery, yet also exposes how deeply-seated corruption is within the prosecution service and makes it hard to identify who may have committed it.

Professor Seo revealed in the episode 14 preview that Assemblyman Ko pushed him off of a bridge, prompting Professor Seo to strike back at him with anger. Later he informs Assemblyman Ko that he knows who killed his student privately.

With each passing episode, the mystery surrounding the death of a renowned law professor deepens further. Kim Myung-min and Kim Bum, as main protagonists, deliver strong performances while trying to solve this case.

However, the show does not come without its share of flaws: sometimes uneven acting by supporting characters and less-than-ideal writing are present.

One drawback of the show is its tendency towards complexity; nonetheless, its storyline remains fascinating and well worth watching.

This show successfully keeps viewers at the edge of their seat by giving them a taste of legal thriller. Additionally, its plot remains surprising fresh. While some plot developments might seem exaggerated at times, they don’t detract from its overall quality production.
