3. Over the Phone
Legal consumers frequently prefer calling an attorney, rather than email or text, due to a desire for immediate reassurance, support or help from talking directly with another human being. Furthermore, many attorneys prefer being available during work hours for phone consultation rather than sending email updates directly.
As soon as a potential client contacts a law firm, they should be directed directly to an attorney as quickly as possible. If no available attorney is immediately available, they should inform the caller and offer to make an appointment or call them back later if desired; additionally they should discuss any potential charges, should this apply; should they be transferred elsewhere, the new attorney should introduce themselves quickly while sharing details about their area of practice.
When it comes to telephone conversations, attorneys must ensure they are well organized and prepared before calling their clients. Otherwise, their time may be consumed retrieving information and explaining strategies on how best to act or reach their goal. It may be more cost effective for clients to send documents electronically with descriptive names, dates and relevant details included – saving both parties both time and effort!
4. In Person or Over the Phone
Attorney-at-law (or “avocat”) refers to anyone authorized by the courts or administrative bodies to practice law within a legal jurisdiction. An attorney at law is often called upon for courtroom appearances or administrative processes and is bound by legal duties and obligations as set out for attorneys-at-law. Attorneys can be found online and over the phone – when looking for one it’s advisable to read reviews as well as ask friends and family for recommendations.
